This is one of the many showcases I was recently lucky enough to shoot with XI Media at the House of Vans at SXSW this year. I got to see a ton of great bands and meet and work with some really cool folks. I was running the pit cam for the indoor stage. It was a long four days but it was a blast!
On January 26th, Clayton Stringer and I were privileged to shoot a live music performance in Sun City by Jay Williams and Bolivar Roads. Jay found me on Thumbtack.com and asked me to DP and edit this live performance for him. I had never heard of Jay but I immediately appreciated his style and the way he wrote and sang about things in his life that have meaning. This is probably my favorite song of Jay’s. This was also my first opportunity to film live music where I was allowed to control the stage lighting. So, with my modest light kit and 5 dslrs, Clayton and I were able to capture this beautiful performance by Jay. Joel Chalwick was in charge of sound representing Werd Recording Enterprises. My good friends Jacob and Jennifer were married recently and I had the honor of documenting the event. I hired Gary Reynolds of Weatherford, Tx to help me shoot and Lauren Kilpatrick of The One Productions was kind enough to run a camera for the ceremony. Overall, it was great day and I had a blast shooting. Congrats to Jenn and Jake!
Here is another summer wedding shot in Lubbock, Tx for Stringer Productions. I will say that Spirit Ranch is one of the more attractive places in Lubbock to shoot. This was an awesome backyard wedding at a lake house on Lake Whitney. During the ceremony I almost fell down a cliff and then I tripped over a support wire during the reception. Nevertheless, Clayton put out another great trailer. Visit Stringer Productions to see more.
